该集团为工业客户提供的产品将包括来自微软于 2018 年收购的初创公司 Bonsai 的技术。据一位直接负责的人士称，Bonsai 正在开发一种通用应用程序开发服务和模拟软件，非编码人员可以使用该软件将机器学习添加到工业系统中。

Microsoft’s four-month-old industrial Metauniverse team has been disbanded, with all 100 or so employees laid off, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, theinformation reports.
Microsoft set up the Industrial Metaverse Core team in October last year to work on building metaverse applications in scenarios such as power plants, industrial robots and transportation networks.
The group’s offerings to industrial customers will include technology from Bonsai, a start-up Microsoft acquired in 2018. Bonsai is developing a general-purpose application development service and simulation software that non-coders can use to add machine learning to industrial systems, according to a person with direct responsibility.
The industrial metauniverse (IMC) team is supported by Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella and other Microsoft executives. Microsoft also recently appointed a leader to its IMC team, former Bonsai CEO and co-founder Mark Hammond.
Eric Traut, a technology researcher in Microsoft’s Business AI team, has been named head of engineering and science for the IMC team. Harald Winkmann, COO of the Commercial AI team, will also join the IMC team and lead product planning. Both report to Hammond.
The team, largely made up of a group known internally as Project Bonsai, was swept up in the 10,000 job cuts Microsoft announced last month.
Microsoft has not officially commented on the matter, but a source familiar with the matter said the team’s disbanding was due to the lack of maturity of metacomes in industrial Settings and Microsoft’s lack of investment in metacomes.
