日前,联想集团高级副总裁、联想企业科技集团总裁童夫尧做客人民日报客户端《问道》栏目,就联想探索转型、为企业提供数字化解决方案,加大科技创新、融入全球化发展等问题与主持人进行了充分交流。
一、积极探索转型,为企业提供创新的解决方案
在过去几十年,联想一直以国内较有影响力的PC品牌形象出现在大众视野。但事实上,联想在业务转型的路上早已先发一步。“联想很早就不是一家仅仅做PC的公司,经历过业务转型,联想如今更像是一家以服务、解决方案为引领的公司,这是联想在过去15年里最大的变化。”《问道》中,童夫尧说。
早些年,联想集团董事长兼CEO杨元庆就曾提出联想的3S战略,即智能物联网、智能基础架构和智能行业的解决方案。2019年底,联想又在此基础上,延伸提出了“端-边-云-网-智”的技术架构体系,以及在这个架构之上的垂直行业解决方案,积极探索构建商用边缘计算解决方案全景生态,将智能物联传感设备、多种通信数据传输能力、设备运维及数据分析平台及场景化的解决方案全面覆盖,从而向客户提供更加完善的产品与解决方案,助力各行各业智能化场景创新。
据了解,端-边-云-网-智协同的基础架构能满足企业实现智能化的不同算力需求,是各行业实现数据智能化的基石。在这一基础架构下,联想重视行业的可复制性。每服务一家智能制造领域的企业,联想都会将经验进行总结,归纳成方法论,把提供的解决方案和专业服务复制到其他领域和场景。
例如,在离散行业,联想智能制造的智能化水平一直走在行业前列。联想不仅为企业提供解决方案,还基于自身体验,通过大数据、5G、边缘计算等技术,优化生产制造流程和供应链管理,总结形成离散行业智能制造的解决方案。近期,联想发布了《2020智能制造行业白皮书》,供合作企业参考、借鉴和复制。
“因此,联想更像是一家跟客户一起设计应用场景并落地、帮助客户进行数字化转型的服务供应商,通过内生经验,借助专家团队,为广大客户提供完整的企业级端到端解决方案。” 童夫尧补充道,过去15年里,联想通过并购,成功实现了组织和文化的整合,其中尤其是整合了全球供应链,整合了海外和中国的BT/IT系统,实现了组织效率的巨大提升。下一步,联想将围绕智能制造、智慧城市、智慧医疗、智慧零售、智慧教育等多种场景,开发更多商用物联网终端,通过对数据进行智能化分析,让数据焕发新价值。
二、突破科技瓶颈,助力构建双循环格局
7月底,国家提出谋划“以国内大循环为主体、国内国际双循环相互促进”的新发展格局。作为国内有影响力的科技创新企业,多年来,联想坚持走“全球化”与“本地化”紧密结合的发展道路,以科技创新为驱动力,推进企业国际化,提高企业在全球市场的竞争力。
在这一过程中,科技创新显得尤为重要。按童夫尧的话说,“我们必须要突破某些技术领域‘卡脖子’问题,实现关键技术、关键行业、关键环节的产业链可控和闭环。”多年来,联想以包容开放、合作共赢的姿态,不断推进科技创新,推动全球化与本地化深度融合。
如今,联想的超算、边缘计算等技术,为不少企业的智能化升级提供了可行性。在全球浮点运算性能Top 500台超级计算机中,联想制造的超算入围180台,名列全球高性能计算提供商份额第一名。
童夫尧以天气预报为例,对超算技术进行了形象介绍。以往,某地气象局的超算设备计算能力达9.8万亿次每秒,在旁人看来这已是一个非常惊人的数字。“然而,在超算领域,这只是一个很小的数字。联想提供给客户的设备,计算能力达到2300万亿次每秒,是先前的200多倍。” 此外,联想的50度温水水冷技术能很好地帮助客户提升计算效率、降低业务成本。
“在CPU、GPU等新IT技术的推动下,超算正在往更好的、服务于人工智能研究、服务更广泛的企业客户方面迈进。计算力、存储力的提升,以及对成本的节约,是超算技术带给人们的价值。具体到气象预报领域,超算会使预报更加精准。这个技术看起来高深莫测,似乎与我们没有多大关系,但细化到每一个分支领域,都与每个人息息相关。” 童夫尧说,超算就在我们身边,让我们的生活变得更美好。
经过多年的积累,联想在云计算、5G智能互联等创新领域拥有了日臻成熟的技术和产品。2019年底,联想推出了包括大数据平台Leap HD、工业物联网平台LeapIOT、企业级人工智能平台Leap AI在内的数据智能核心平台,帮助企业实现各环节数据的采集、分析和融合,降低使用门槛,实现全域智能化的真正落地,如联想独特水冷技术、边缘计算等高科技的研发,已为不少企业的发展提供了新的助力。
“未来五年或十年,是一个万物互联、以数字为核心的时代。在这个趋势下,没有一个人能够置身事外,我们都要跟着潮流往前走。”谈及联想未来的发展方向,童夫尧说,作为一家有责任、有担当的中国企业,联想将积极助力国家构建双循环发展的新格局,用创新的解决方案和丰富的国际化经验,助力企业数字化转型。

1. Actively explore transformation and provide innovative solutions for enterprises
In the past decades, Lenovo has been one of the most influential PC brands in China. But in fact, Lenovo has already taken a head start in transforming its business. “Lenovo was not just a PC company for a very long time. After business transformation, Lenovo is now more like a service and solution-led company. This is the biggest change in Lenovo in the past 15 years.” “Ask”, Tong Fuyao said.
In the early years, Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, proposed Lenovo’s 3S strategy, namely intelligent Internet of Things, intelligent infrastructure and intelligent industry solutions. At the end of 2019, Lenovo extended and proposed the technical architecture system of “end-edge-cloud-network-intelligence” on this basis, as well as vertical industry solutions based on this framework, and actively explored the construction of a panoramic ecology of commercial edge computing solutions. It is understood that the infrastructure of end-edge-cloud-network-intelligence collaboration can meet the different computing power needs of enterprises to realize intelligence, and is the cornerstone of realizing data intelligence in various industries. Under this infrastructure, Lenovo attaches importance to industry replicability. For each enterprise in the field of intelligent manufacturing, Lenovo will summarize its experience into a methodology and copy the solutions and professional services it provides to other fields and scenarios.
For example, in discrete industries, the intelligent level of Lenovo intelligent manufacturing has been at the forefront of the industry.
Lenovo not only provides solutions for enterprises, but also optimizes production and manufacturing processes and supply chain management through big data, 5G, edge computing and other technologies based on its own experience, and summarizes and forms intelligent manufacturing solutions for discrete industries. Recently, Lenovo released a White Paper on the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry 2020 for reference, reference and replication by its partner enterprises.
“Therefore, Lenovo is more like a service provider that designs and implements application scenarios with customers and helps customers with digital transformation. Through internal experience and expert team, Lenovo provides customers with complete enterprise-level end-to-end solutions.” Mr Tong added that over the past 15 years, Lenovo had successfully integrated its organisation and culture through mergers and acquisitions, particularly by integrating its global supply chain and BT/IT systems overseas and in China, which had led to significant improvements in organisational efficiency. In the next step, Lenovo will focus on intelligent manufacturing, smart city, smart healthcare, smart retail, smart education and other scenarios to develop more commercial iot terminals, through intelligent analysis of the data, so that the data will be full of new value.
2. Break the bottleneck of science and technology to help build a double cycle pattern
At the end of July, the country proposed a new development pattern in which the domestic cycle is the main body and the domestic and international cycles are mutually reinforcing. As an influential scientific and technological innovation enterprise in China, Lenovo has adhered to the development path of closely combining “globalization” and “localization” over the years, taking scientific and technological innovation as the driving force to promote enterprise internationalization and improve its competitiveness in the global market.
In this process, scientific and technological innovation is particularly important. According to Tong Fuyao’s words, “we must break through the problem of ‘bottleneck’ in some technical fields. Today, Lenovo’s supercomputer, edge computing and other technologies have provided feasibility for many enterprises to upgrade their intelligence. Tong Fuyao used weather forecasting as an example to give a visual introduction to supercomputer technology.
In the past, a weather bureau’s supercomputer had the capacity to perform 9.8 trillion calculations per second, a staggering figure to the outside world. “However, in the world of supercomputing, this is a very small number. “Lenovo has provided customers with devices capable of 2,300 teraflops of computing power, more than 200 times the previous capacity.” In addition, Lenovo’s 50 degrees warm water cooling technology can well help customers improve computing efficiency and reduce business costs.
“Driven by new IT technologies such as cpus and Gpus. Supercomputers are moving forward to better serve AI research and serve a wider range of enterprise customers. The increase in computing power, storage power, and cost savings are the values that supercomputing technology brings to people. When it comes to weather forecasting, supercomputers will make it more accurate. This technology may seem inscrutable and not relevant to us, but down to each sub-field, it is relevant to everyone.” Tong Fuyao says supercomputers are all around us, making our lives better.
After years of accumulation, Lenovo has developed increasingly mature technologies and products in such innovative fields as cloud computing and 5G intelligent interconnection.
At the end of 2019, Lenovo launched a core data intelligence platform. Including big data platform Leap HD, industrial Internet of Things platform LeapIOT and enterprise-level artificial intelligence platform Leap AI, to help enterprises realize data collection, analysis and integration of all links, lower the threshold of use, and realize the real landing of all-domain intelligence.
